In our world today, we heavily rely on the care, and treatment that exists within hospitals, and health clinics all throughout the Untied States whether we are dealing with just a simple virus, broken bone, or serious health issue. Within these facilities we rest assure and trust that our doctors, nurses, surgeons, and even the hospital administration has the ultimate purpose of making sure that we are diagnosed, and treated properly with our eventual wellness, and future health in mind. However, today, we are unfortunately being proven wrong again, and again, which is evidently seen in that of medical malpractice cases.
Who’s Fault Is It?
Medical malpractice is one aspect of a hospital that varies significantly and deals usually with more of a case-by-case basis, but has occurred in large quantities at once before. While some people tend to cast the blame to one aspect of a hospital over another it certainly can be stated that no matter who is solely responsible what happens in a hospital is a joint effort by all aspects of its staff. However, what are some hazards, and other factors that affect the majority of patients today within a hospital environment?
Identifying Factors and Hazards
Recently, a study was conducted by the ECRI, which has based the premise of the study on the top 10 hazards an individual faces while being a patient in a hospital. The study found that in many cases IVs present many issues for patients, especially in such cases that deal with air embolisms. Aside from your actual treatment many patients can also deal with issues when their treatment equipment, or other diagnostic machinery is not adjusted properly. Every patient varies physically in comparison to another, which means that they will need this equipment adjusted properly for its function to be used properly. However, in many instances, health care professionals forget to adjust these devices and patients end up either not being properly treated, or deal with further injuries.
Remember, when you are in a hospital setting you are supposed to be the individual is being treated with your health, and wellness in mind. However, medical malpractice can hinder this and replace it with negligent treatment and further health issues.
