Court Employee Receives Worker’s Compensation

In today’s day and age, we are currently in an economic recession. The impact can not only be seen, but also felt in many families throughout the United States. People are beginning to watch their spending, saving more, and trying to conserve and use less of what they have so that they are ultimately understanding the value of a dollar, and what it truly consists of. Yet, every one encounters variables every once and a while. Life never really brings the guarantee of perfection, but or less the possibility for instances to occur.

Recently, a St. Louis circuit court reporter received damages that amounted in over $90,000 for the injuries she sustained over time as a result from her job that was held for over 20 years. The injuries were said to be due to repetitive stress being placed upon the wrists, and elbows, which if not treated could cause a further lifetime of pain, or even joints, and other muscles being affected by the prior injury.

The woman was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, as well cubital tunnel syndrome due to the task of having to type all day, everyday for 20 years, as well as the extensive filing of court documents, and other miscellaneous papers.

The woman sought compensation prior to the recent ruling, but was denied. Luckily, the ruling was appealed to the worker’s compensation board, which then helped the woman get the damages she deserved for years of diligent work, and debilitating pain.

People today are already in a rough patch thanks to the national economy, employment rates fluctuating, as well as the rising costs of products in the market. With so many things in mind a person can only handle so much at once, but when one thing that is drastic occurs it can easily send individuals down a hole of hardships, and other financial issues. When a person is either injured on the job, or as a result from the work they are participating in they deserve not only fairness, but also justice as a whole.
